Awards Night!

Watched the Golden Globes, brought to you by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
I love Awards season. It's a great chance to see Hollywood act humbled, as well as a chance to be exposed to shows and movies I may not have been familiar with prior.
As much as I always enjoyed Ricky Gervais' comedy and having him host, I do like Jimmy Fallon, and am a sucker for an opening show tune.
Other great moments from the Golden Globes were Ryan Gosling's acceptance speech for his wife... The HFPA's tribute to Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher... nominations for the Deadpool movie... Viola Davis presenting the Cecil B. DeMille award to Meryl Streep, and everything about her speech.
My favorite speeches are the ones where the winner has a heartfelt message, or the ones where the winner just cannot contain their excitement and get so proud. I know if that was me up there, I would either be too nervous to speak or so excited that I just ramble.

Went out to eat Indian food today and dressed for comfort and warmth. I picked up this sweater on a trip to Mexico from a vendor and it is so warm. I definitely recommend these Baja hoodies if you are in cold weather. The boots are just from Wal Mart, and the jeans were bought from a store called Hammers that I visit every time I make a trip up to the snowy mountains in Tennessee.

I can't feel my toes

This weather has been so rickety lately, and yesterday morning I awoke to a temperature of 27-degrees Fahrenheit outside. I didn't want to leave the house, but it was required, so I wore this outfit and then immediately came home and hopped back into comfy pajamas.

This sweater is from Target and really perfect for the bad weather.

These bootleg jeans came from JC Penney, and I've had them for awhile so they stretch comfortably and have become my go-to pair of jeans.

It's always good to have a hat/scarf combo for cold days. I love this JC Penney set because it's black so it goes with most of my dark-colored clothes. Plus it's sparkly, so it adds some extra flair to the boring cold days.

As nice as it is to go out, on cold days like yesterday I am more happy to stay at home under covers and binge watch. Today I rented Woody Allen's Cafe Society. It's got an All Star cast and is set in old Hollywood. What's not to love?

Rain, Rain, Go Away

It's been raining for the past 3 days, complete with flood and tornado watches, so I've been hiding out at home watching old movies on Netflix.
But it cleared up yesterday long enough for me to go out and run some errands.

Viddy on the Big Screen

I went to see the new Univeral and Illumination movie Sing yesterday with my sister and her kids. It's an animated movie about animals in a singing competition. Not only was it adorable, but it was a good movie.

Shop Bop

Went out to run errands in the rain and picked up a few little trinkets during that time.

I found this light blue Cinderella nail polish by Sinful Colors at Wal Mart...

I love cozy socks and found this set of 3 leopard print socks by Betsey Johnson.

Then stopped at Sonic for a peanut butter milkshake, shown here sitting on one of my strawberry coasters from Target. I like the reindeers on the cups.

String Me Along

Spent yesterday practicing the banjo. I'm not the biggest bluegrass fan, but I do like turning on Mumford & Sons music and pretending I know all the chords to their music.

I have a chord book, but I found I learn better by watching someone's example, so I've been using this DVD to practice with...

Went out roaming around with a friend later in the day, so here's some outfit photos as well.
