Uncaged

I haven't been posting lately, but it has been a very uneventful week.
On another note, I think Simply Southern shirts, skinny jeans (like these from TJ Maxx) and these boots from Old Navy have almost become a new uniform of sorts for me. It's a comfy look, yet you never look like you just rolled out of bed and put it on.

I have been reading Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov this week so it hasn't been a total drag. I'm normally not one to voice my opinion on controversial subjects, but I do support this novel and am very proud of it. I've watched both of the movie versions and a documentary on it. I definitely recommend giving this novel a chance because it is a well written love story and not just a disgusting tale of pedophilia.

A Festivus for the Rest of Us

So, for those who don't know,  I am a big fan of the show Seinfeld. So, yesterday being December 23rd, I had to watch the episode on Festivus.

Although Festivus is a more of an anti-Christmas holiday, I did wind up doing a lot of Christmas festivities. Including going to the movies on the lawn in town and watching (or rather talking during) Prancer.

My nephew makes an appearance in this photo. We were hanging out by the sleigh bells while waiting to take the train ride. The sleigh bells were taller than him. 

I love the back of the shirt. It has mock buttons going down the part of the back, the switches to lace and flares out down the rest of the back.

I went out to a local Italian restaurant with a friend in order to eat and exchange presents. The restaurant even gave us Christmas cards with a Christmas C.D. It was so nice.

My friend does great calligraphy, which made me more excited about the writing on the envelope than the writing typed in the card.

Shopping Day!

Confession:: I do a lot of on-line shopping and the main reason for that is that there are no really good stores in my area to shop at. But every year my sisters and I make it a habit to travel about an hour away for our annual girls Christmas shopping trip.

I found this great Where's Waldo set at Target. It would make a perfect outfit for Halloween or conventions.

I'm currently loving the Simply Southern collection these days, so I had to purchase this t-shirt and koozie today.

New items

Got some new things in the mail today.
I had been on the lookout for a nice, structured black handbag and I finally found one by Rampage at T.J. Maxx. It's the perfect size and even comes with a detachable pom pom keychain.

I also got this Simply Southern "M" necklace which I had been on the lookout for as well. It's gold-plated and absolutely beautiful.

Out to Dinner

Went and did dinner with a friend tonight. It's always fun to dress up and do dinner with your girlfriends.
